VCT Floor Stripping, Waxing & Maintenance in Athens, GA
Vinyl composition tile must be properly maintained to keep it looking good and to ensure its durability.

Vinyl composition tile (VCT) is common in commercial and industrial facilities because of its durability, low cost and ease of maintenance. With proper care it keeps a quality appearance for many years. Routine cleaning, plus regular chemical stripping, waxing and buffing, is an important part of any VCT maintenance plan.
Neglecting VCT can cause permanent damage that hurts the look of your floor and forces early replacement. To protect your investment and keep your facility looking great, contact the flooring experts at Victory RCS and put our 20+ years of experience with VCT flooring to work for you.

Helpful tips
Tips for maintaining VCT flooring
Use walk-off mats
Place mats at all entryways to catch debris. Vacuum them daily and change them regularly.
Sweep & dust mop daily
Removing dirt and debris from the surface protects the tile finish.
Damp mop frequently
Use a damp mop with neutral cleaner at least twice a week, and daily in high-traffic areas, to remove remaining particulate.
Burnish weekly
A high-speed floor machine with a white pad produces the high-quality shine that makes floors look great.
Strip off old wax
Over time, traffic and cleaning wear the finish and the floor must be refinished, often annually. Old wax should be completely removed with a chemical stripper, then rinsed with water.
Apply 3–5 layers of finish
Once the floor is stripped, rinsed and fully dry, apply at least 3 coats of finish to protect the tile, and 5 coats in higher-traffic areas.
